Karyn Marie Chabot, M.Ay, LMT, RYT started studying the ancient science of the cards and Jyotish for fun about 10 years ago and started reading for friends and family. She was busy running her massage, ayurveda and yoga school in Newport, RI, but had such a high demand for readings from everyone, that she decided that she should make a profession out it! She is naturally intuitive and will provide many insights and clarity for you. Karyn is warm, approachable, trustworthy and offers very grounded strategies for understanding the gifts and challenges of your blueprint. Strangers feel compelled to share their deepest, most intimate secrets and sorrows with her because creates a safe, sacred space to be yourself. She cleverly merges free will into her predictions and always reminds clients that they are co-creators of their life. Karyn happily shines the light on what potentials are coming your way and provides tools for how to be prepared for what's ahead. Since she is also an Ayurvedic Health Counselor, she also includes insights into your health.
Karyn studied Jyotish (Vedic Astrology from India) from 2008-2010 with David Hawthorne in Fairfield, IA, as well as with Penny Farrow, Simon Chokoisky, Gandharva Sauls and many other experts. As an astrologer and healer, Karyn cognized Sacred Stone Massage Therapy in 1999 off the shores of Rhode Island and was the first to bring this beautiful therapy to the East Coast. She coined the phrase, "Hot Stone Massage", which is now used in most spas around the world. Many others started practicing and teaching Hot Stone Massage, which gave rise to many new versions of her original therapy. In order to preserve it's authenticity, Karyn re-named it Sacred Stone Therapy. Karyn trained over 1,000 Sacred Stone Therapists and is one of the leading continuing education providers for licensed massage therapists and healers.
Karyn is also the founder of Sacred Stone Academy for Massage and Ayurveda (SAMA), a school for Ayurveda and continuing and proprietary education in professional massage therapy where her graduates are eligible for state licensure. She discovered the healing power of stones while she was struggling to relieve her own physical pain due to fibromyalgia. At the end of a long day of seeing clients, Karyn would find relief by laying upon the smooth, sun-baked stone cliffs in her backyard in Rhode Island. She started heating these velvety, textured sea stones from the cliffs and incorporating them into her oil massage practice (abhyanga) to facilitate the healing process for her clients. With the help of her client's feedback, inspiration and suggestions, she and her clients developed Sacred Stone Therapy. Massage therapists from all over the country starting making appointments with Karyn to experience this new therapy and asked her to start teaching classes.
In 1997, Karyn graduated and studied with the well-loved and renowned Dr. Vasant Lad, B.A. M.S at his prestigious school called The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico. She graduated from Goddard College with her bachelor's degree in Alternative Health in 1995. Universal Massage Therapeutics of New Mexico graduated Karyn in 1997.
