Class Description
Escape the cold and join Karyn Chabot, D. Ay., LMT for an educational Ayurvedic massage certification retreat in the magical mountains of Costa Rica! Learn and practice by giving and receiving massage! This is your vacation whether you want to relax by the pool, get a massage or facial from the outstanding spa staff, enjoy a jungle hike to the volcanoes, swim at the beach, go white water rafting or fly through the rainforest on a zip line!
Achieve higher states of consciousness and a healthier body through living the science of Ayurveda! Earn 50 CE credits with the NCBTMB. Experience Ayurvedic cooking, fresh coconut milk and mangos and walks in the coffee fields. The curriculum will be focused primarily on Garshana & Abhyanga Therapy (Dry Skin Brushing & Oil Massage) as well as Nasya and Karna Purana Therapy (ear and nose cleansing). The amazing staff at Pura Vida spa will demonstrate and teach parts of the course.
Interested in our New Online School of Ayurveda 1 year Diploma Program? As a part of the online Ayurvedic school that is being developed by Sacred Stone, there will be mandatory in-person workshops to learn the hands-on Ayurvedic healing work. There will be other locations and times where students can fulfill this requirement if you can't come to Costa Rica this time. The other details of the school requirements are still being ironed out, but we do know that 300 of the required 500 hours must be spent in real-time with the instructor. This class will primarily focus on practice and hands-on because the theory and concepts can be taught online. Joining this class in Costa Rica is a step towards that, but anyone can attend. You don't have to be a massage therapist and you don't have to register for the online Ayurvedic school in order to attend this retreat.

The Registration Process
Cancellation Policy: Hotel Deposits are refundable up to thirty (30) days prior to your scheduled check-in. Tuition is non-refundable, but credit can be applied to the next Costa Rica trip. Sacred Stone brings students to Puravida every January or February, so if you can't make it this year, your tuition money will be applied to the next year's event in Costa Rica.

Step 2: Choose your accommodations and remit your deposit to Di Chapman at Pura Vida (888) 767-7375 ext. 225, or send an e-mail to reservations@puravidaspa.com.

Step 4: Arrive at Pura Vida. Pay the balance of your hotel fees to the front desk and check in!

What To Bring?
- Please bring a set of massage table linens
- 8 oz of massage oil. (sunflower, jojoba, safflower, sesame, grapeseed, apricot)
- All the other equipment needed for the course will be provided by Pura Vida
Who Should Attend?
There are no prerequisites. Anyone is welcome. We will pair up non-massage therapists with each other. The class is usually filled with massage therapists, acupuncturists, chiropractors, yoga teachers and other wellness practitioners. Anyone interested in getting his or her Ayurveda Practitioner Diploma should attend. This tuition will go towards the tuition for the new Online Ayurveda School. Details about the school will be posted soon.

All rooms include meals. I (Karyn) have stayed in the Tentalow and it's very comfortable. Its like a regular room with a bed, table, lamp, carpet and other creature comforts except the bathroom is outside. Students are responsible to find their own airfare. San Jose is 20 minutes from Alajuela, CR. Buy your airfare sooner than later to get the best rates.
